Confession: I didn't try on this outfit before the photo shoot!
All I knew was that I loved the colorful scarf combined with the black dress and boots.
Most of the time, I don't feel like trying things on at home(/my apartment). I also want to constantly feel comfortable when I'm at home and it almost feels out of place to be dressed up at home. Whenever I come home from work, I want to get out of my work clothes ASAP! I think that makes me a little weird. Yes? No? Oh well. There are way weirder things about me so who cares. Haha.
In retrospect, if I could change one thing about this look, I would probably wear tighter black boots with this dress or tights and ankle boots. I think the knee-high boots I'm wearing above are really cute, but look a little too loose and clunky with the dress. That's just my opinion. I think it definitely still works, but there may be better options out there.
Now onto what I love about this outfit: The colorful scarf which gives the look some dimension (and makes the outfit more "interesting" - in a good way), the knee-high feature of the boots which gives a wintry and classic touch, the pink lipstick I'm wearing (which is SO creamy to apply and gradually dries matte!), the way that the pink lip, pink sunglasses, and pink colors in the scarf match, and the sophistication of the turtleneck and long sleeves of this black dress!
This dress fits so well and the material is smooth and won't pill. The turtleneck isn't overwhelming and is shorter, which is more comfortable for me at least. It's definitely "swingy" and is the perfect length.
I linked some very similar scarves, plus my exact lip color, sunglasses, and dress above and below!
